Custom Hepatocyte And Non-parenchymal Liver Cell Isolation

MB Biosciences can be your partner for custom isolation of hepatocytes or primary cells from your animals or from selected rodent strains and transgenic animals. We perfusion, isolate, preserve and cryopreserve primary cells for shipment to the customer. You simply plate and use. You receive primary cells in suspension format or in the following plated formats that you desire, together with documentation of characterization. Highly trained staff works closely with you at every step to ensure your satisfaction.

Hepatocyte Isolation

Hepatocytes are isolated from mouse and rat liver by two step of collagenase perfusion. Cells can be purified by density gradient centrifugation or centrifugal elutriation. Cells are suitable for use in suspension or can be plated in primary culture.

Non-parenchymal liver cell isolation
The MB Biosciences provide preparation of hepatic stellate cells, sinusoidal endothelial cells and Kupffer cells from rats and mice. The procedure involves collagenase perfusion of the liver followed by a cell- and species-specific combination of purification steps. Cells are suitable for use in suspension or can be plated in primary culture.

3D Hepatocytes Culture and Hepatic Cell Co-Cultures

Hepatocyte cultured together with liver non-parenchymal cells such as sinusoidal hepatic endothelial cells, Kupffer cells and hepatic stellate cells are powerful in vitro tools to model normal and inflamed liver states. 

MB Biosciences’ scientists have extensive experience in using a Hepatocyte and liver non-parenchymal cells 3D co-culture systems to test the effects of test compounds on certain cell types. Ability to model normal and inflamed liver states - make your own custom ratios.

Caco-2 Cell Monolayer Model Cell Culture

MB Biosciences works as an extension of a customer’s team to provide Caco-2 cell monolayer culture services that can be time saving and cost-effective for your oral absorption, bioavailability evaluation, drug transporter and Drug-Drug interaction studies.

MB Biosciences scientists are experts in the Caco-2 cell monolayer model, a combination of experience and rigorous cell biology QC processes assures high stability of Caco-2 barrier and maintains full cell functionality for your studies.

MB Bio’s Caco-2 cell services include expert scientific consultation to plan your Caco-2 monolayer culture, fast turn-around with scheduled status updates of your cells. The Caco-2 cells are seeded in 24 and 96-well Caco-2 insert plates. Caco-2 cells are cultured 21 days after cell seeding to allow for complete monolayer formation and cell differentiation. Prior to delivery to your laboratory, the integrity of Caco-2 monolayers are verified by transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) measurements.
